Air Canada lost my bag and they offered to pay for the rental so may be worth asking the airline (probably unlikely if you were flying with a budget company). I just forgot to claim.

Canada gets pretty chilly there was about 2 weeks of -30->-40 in Banff before christmas.. will have been colder on the mountain( s)
