Thx 4 your answers.

Just make sure everyone in your party knows their (fully clothed) weight in Kg (and doesn't lie about it), and their height in metres and their shoe size in continental sizes (assuming you're going to Europe). I am always forgetting all mine and sometimes they don't have a weighing scales and I'm left standing in the hire shop looking exceptionally stupid while I try to work out my 14 X table and then divide it by 2.2

Ian,
Welcome back. I'm sorry about your car, but at least you will get it back, eventually, and hopefully complete with skis in roof box :D

You've missed a lot of wibble, a few pillow fights, and some interesting discussions - plenty of reading for you to catch up on :D

It stands for something, see if you can work it out.

now you've got me thinking. I hope it's nice
something to do with Arsenal?

I don't think it's anything to do with Arsenal. It is either 'Greatest Of All Time' or 'Gay On A Tray' ...I can't imagine which one Tony means!

Snowbandit,
I think it's more likely 'Girl on a tray' - I was thinking myself it had to be something to do with her defection to the 'other side' :D

Congratulations Tony,
That's a vast number of postings. With evidence like that, maybe you could get a ski patch on prescription from the doctor to treat your addiction - it would save you a lot of time  :D

I wrote a long post on this - I wonder where it went :?:

Anyway, Tony and Gadgetgirl seem to have said most of it now.

Sorry Rose, I've got to go out now and I haven't got time to write it all over again - I've only just noticed it never got posted up.

I think what Sm4sh wanted to do, was to go to a shop that sold D2B stuff, check their sizes, and then buy it on the internet in their current up to 60& off sale, so that he wouldn't get caught out like I did with buying D2B trousers too small.

I bought my Animal ski trousers in a sale (in a 'proper' shop), half price, and I really like them (I just wish I hadn't been so gluttonous lately).

Trencher,
I am off to TK Maxx today to see what they've got, and then I'm going to see if I can buy myself a ski helmet.

Getting fit for skiing

Tony_H wrote:Quads and core muscles are the ones to work on to help with "fitness". Funny this topic was raised, as I started my "skiing fitness campaign" 3 weeks ago, early September.
100 crunches, 25 leg lifts of 4 different sorts, and 50 each of 2 different type of upper body/abdominal stretches.
I also find keeping out of the pub as often helps.

Tony, page 2, (end of September).

What happened to you, Tony, to make you change your mind?

It is quite simple, really. There is a certain level of fitness one has to be, depending on what one is intending to do on one's ski holiday. And one needs to exercise to get up to this level before the holiday, unless one is already fit enough. The amount of exercise needed depends on the size of the disparity between the two fitness levels.
