Sorry Tony,
I've just looked up 'gay on a tray' in the Urban dictionary. You are quite right :D

But apparently 'gay on ice' means something quite different?

I really can't keep up with the ever-increasing pace of the evolution of the English language

Maybe I should just retreat back to my cave?

Littleski,
I just phoned Rail Europe, and told them what you said, and they've given me another number now - 0044 173 252 6700. Apparently you call that number, and then ask to be put through to the call centre. They say it will work from Australia.

I'm sorry it's all turning out to be so difficult for you.

pronation and acl injuries
Started by User in Ski Hardware, 17 Replies
This is what I found on the subject, by googling it.

http://sportsmedicine.about.com/od/women/a/Q_angle.htm

According to this article, the chance of future acl injuries can be reduced by specific exercises, and one of the reasons more women get them than men is because we have a wider pelvis.

Incidentally, I played rugby at Uni, and no-one in our team had trouble with this type of injury :D

Hi Littleski,
It's 10 a.m. here, at the moment - a great time to phone them!

No, I'm not kidding, because Gay on a tray doesn't make sense. It can't possibly mean that.

The Ski Helmet Debate
Started by Admin in Ski Hardware, 491 Replies, discussing Tignes and Val Thorens
I have finally done it. I have bought a helmet!

I took my daughter to Pembrey today (the dry ski slope where I broke my shoulder) because they have a good ski shop with lots of helmets for sale, and I am very keen for her to start wearing one, especially as this coming holiday she will be having off piste lessons.

Anyway, we were ages trying on helmets, and I remembered whoever's tip it was to try them on with goggles. She has a large head and she picked an adult Scott helmet shadow white, for £74-95 with matching Scott Witness Oxford Silver goggles for £85 (she has very expensive tastes but I agreed because I do want her wearing a helmet).

And I got my helmet for a real bargain price, because I have a very small head and I got a children's one (no VAT) Salomon helmet Kiana white for £39-95 and I am keeping my non matching goggles (someone had to economize!).

I will let you know how I get on ski-ing with my new helmet in a couple of weeks. It does have some very nice ear muffs so it should at least keep my ears warm :D

We are off to the 3V's - Courchevel 1550, in just under 2 weeks now, and very much looking forward to it. I'm glad you enjoyed yourselves. Coming back is always the hardest bit of the holiday!
