I cooked breakfast this morning and took one tray up to my husband and the other up to my eldest son. My son thought it was an April Fool because I have never taken him breakfast in bed before.
To be honest, I just did him some because I was doing it for my husband anyway (we take it in turns)and I had totally forgotten it was 1st April, so he was quite safe. Should I have put some laxative in his tea? |

I do believe that apart from me and Mr F all the others are going solo at the moment.
Mr F and I are quite happy skiing on our own but thought it might be fun to meet up with others of like mind and similar age. If it doesn't work out we will just ski on our own again but I have no reason to think it will be anything other than fun. The good thing about this chalet is that it is big enough for small groups to come as well as solos. And Icy, I know that March was the most popular month by one vote in the preliminary survey BUT when it came to committing to go, the most popular month was January. For the record I would have done either. Also this village isn't the highest, we are more likely to get better snow in January. If we had gone in March we probably would have had to go to a higher and therefore more expensive place. I just hope some others will sign up now that Ally has gone to all this trouble. If not, the few of us that are committed will go and report back. The beauty of the package Ally has organised means the numbers are completely flexible. |

I'm with you on that one Ally. Nice blue to warm up, then the red, not sure about the black but will take a look. |

I bought my own skis because after renting many different ones I finally found some which brought my skiing on in leaps and bounds. So when the sales were on I bought that make and model knowing they would suit me.
It's not cheap to buy but can be cost effective if you buy in the sales and know that the ski you are buying is right for you. I have already got my money back by not renting, as I have covered the cost of buying them and I know that I won't waste time in resort going backwards and forwards to the hire shop. Travelling with them is another matter. We usually drive so it's not been a problem so far but I have yet to try flying with them. I always used to look at people struggling with their excess luggage and was glad that was not me. Especially people with ski bags too big for their skis because they have bought newer shorter versions but still have the old long bag. Is this another fashion statement like all in one ski suits? Travelling by air will probably be the only thing that changes my mind about owning my own. If that doesn't put you off then go for it. |

Tignes in January and Cham in March... sounds like a plan.
I'm not bothered about going on hols with people I have never met. If 2 of us booked into a catered chalet we would be with people we didn't know anyway. What's the difference? Nothing stopping anyone doing their own thing. |
