Slightly off topic, buy I can't believe that those that yomp across the desert for a month take 28 pairs if socks? I imagine blisters are mire caused by poorly fitting boots. Not tiny salt crystals. Don't they melt again once your feet start to sweat again?
Just a thought, not an argumentative point :) |

2 pairs of ski socks last me all week. They only smell if the sweat gets stale....then who is going to smell them on the slopes/lifts? Then after skiing I usually have so many aches & pains that smell is the least of my worries!

I recently bought a helmet & pair of Goggles (well my dad did as joint birthday & xmas present :) )
I went to Ellis Brigham. Every single one of the points that Bandit has mentioned above was covered in the fitting - it was not a cxase of me walk to the shelf, "that looks nice and seems to fit..." and walk out. It was very much a consultative approach that the guy took with me. We were there for a very long time, chose a helmet first then goggles to fit the helmet. Again he asked what type of skiing I do, price point etc etc. Did not try & sell me the most expensive Oakleys (he actually said they steam up!!) So, my reccomendation would be Ellis Brigham. I bought mine in Chester, but I know they have outlets in London & the south. |

Bandit, I can't comment on all insurance companies. But if you look at my previous comments you will see that my insurance policy covers for slides etc on main pisted areas. What andyhull said fits with what I was told also

With me having fallen arches I tent to drop my feet inwards. Would that affect my stance at all? or do skis tend not to flex inwards?
