Thanks for your report Karen and lovely photos.
It seems a pity a great holiday had to be spoilt at the beginning and the end by poor organization with the transfers. I was really very surprised at the way they put your luggage in the toilet, and blocked up the aisle. We were going DIY on the Altibus from Val Thorens to Moutiers last year, and there was enough room for the passengers but not all the luggage, so they promptly organized some more transport and got everyone to Moutiers in time to catch the Eurostar. I would have thought Crystal would have got you a taxi or a minibus or something. And re the kids on the chairlift - in Courchevel this year they had a new system using magnets to keep the kids on the chairlifts. There is one magnet per chair, and all the kids have metal plates on the back of their ski school tunics, so they can't fall off the chairlift. Ally |

Hi Dave,
I'm sorry to hear your knee has swollen up. I hope it's better for the ski-ing tomorrow. I look forward to seeing your video :D Ally |

Have you got any photos? I've never been there, and it sounds quite interesting. Ally |

Pablo,
Sorry to be so thick, but I don't get that  Would you be so kind as to explain it again for me please? Ally |

Thanks Bandit,
That was an excellent site and it had this to say: Why do I need an EHIC if I have travel insurance? The EHIC and holiday insurance are complementary and you are advised to have both. The EHIC does not cover some costs such as repatriation. Some insurance companies require you to have an EHIC and some companies will waive the excess charge if an EHIC has been used. Ally |

I would like to know if anyone here, who regularly posts, is actually in favour of keeping the present star system.
The only benefit in the current system that I can see, is to those members who read posts but who don't, for whatever reason, make posts themselves. So that if they agree, or disagree, with a post, they can anonymously make their feelings known, but without explaining their reasons for the grading. Those who do post, can simply post a reply. As someone who has posted quite a lot during the last year, I would like to say that I find it upsetting when someone gives me a one star grading and I don't know why. I have no way of knowing if I have unintentionally hurt their feelings and hence no way of apologising, and likewise no way of improving my posts since I don't know where I went wrong. Also, the system is quite clearly open to abuse from members grading for a reason which actually has nothing to do with the quality of the post. Tony, I don't think we need a new system based on the number of posts we make, since this number is already recorded and available to view. As I said before, I don't think we need the star system at all. Perhaps then, those members who have previously graded anonymously might actually post their response, positive or negative, which can then be debated in the open forum in a transparent and democratic manner. Best wishes to everyone - those who post and those who don't :D :D Ally |

I have never had to have medical treatment while ski-ing, but I would have thought the insurers wouldn't pay out for private treatment whilst the basic free treatment we are entitled to as EU citizens is available. So, I would say get what you can free and then pay for the extra in the expectation that the insurers will refund you.
I would also think that if you bring your NHS medical card with you, and possibly your National Insurance number, if you haven't got the EHIC, then you would probably get the free treatment because they could check that you are entitled to it, but, again I may be wrong. So, I would say the answer to the question is 'Yes' you do need the EHIC, but if you can't get one in time, bring your NHS medical card and N.I. number. Ally |

Thanks Tony,
Great report, fantastic photos, and it looks like a really lovely resort. I'm glad you had a brilliant time, and sorry you'll probably have to cancel your Easter trip. Ally |
