Hi Eggman,
Well, I suppose I can always go on my bicycle, as long as no-one tries to make me wear a bike helmet  My Dad used to bike to France on holiday, although of course he wasn't travelling with a load of ski gear  I'm sure we can work something out. Or, we can go later in the season, when there's more likely to be plenty of snow. Ally |

Congratulations TheoBane,
Both on being on of the four best instructors, and on winning the holiday. I hope you have a great time :D Ally |

Snowbandit,
Reading your joke, I thought the answer was going to be: 'You can forget it - they'd never manage it ...' Ally |

Salski,
Have you got any good chalets in mind? If I'm on my own, I can hardly go self-catering, so it would have to be a chalet or a hotel, and I think I'd prefer a chalet. I checked on snowcarbon.co.uk and I can get there okay by train. It also says that Megeve is the best resort in France for mountain restaurants. Which month do you think would be the best one to go? The first week in January after the kids go back to school generally seems to be the cheapest, but I don't know if there'd be enough snow then? Ally |

Hi Snowbandit,
Yes, it was my morning instructor, who seemed to lack a sense of humour. I had in fact booked to do slalom all week in lessons, but I was the only person who'd done so, and they had to combine the different groups. That one go we had at slalom was something he did for me, I think. Maybe he was a bit grumpy because he was the manager, in charge of loads of ski instructors and pupils, during the busiest week of the year, and he had to teach us because they were so short of instructors. If I'd had all week to practice at it, I'd have got a lot better. But still, never mind, in my afternoon lessons I learnt how to ski moguls and powder and had a really great time. I'm glad to hear you've improved so much at ski-ing. I know I have a long way to go yet, but still, it's nice to have something to aim for. Ally |
