I have never taken part in such a debate. However, here goes.
I started wearing one 3 years ago, mainly because I started finding myself going down harder runs and I wanted to feel that my brain cell(s) were protected as much as possible. Yes, I have fallen over and thought, "thanks god I was wearing a helmet" - but you will never know what would have been the result if you hadnt, would it just have been a case of snow in hair (or not for the folically challenged) I hate to say it, but I think there is also an element of fashion in wearing one. Shock horror, fashion in the slopes! But each to their own. |
