I saw quite a few disabled skiers in Courchevel as well. They always seemed to have a 'helper' with them, and when they got on the chairlift the lifties stopped the chair and helped them on.
It is nice to know that if I am ever so misfortunate as to lose a leg there is some hope that I will still be able to ski. I think it's a great idea that they're adapting the ski lifts to take disabled skiers, and they label the lifts now as to whether they're disabled friendly or not, like stations on the London underground :D Ally |

Dustyfog,
I'm not having much luck with your video I'm afraid. All I get is a message saying this a private video, and I need your permission to see it, even though I did sign in to YouTube. Sorry  Ally |

That's very annoying of you Eggman   It's totally not fair  Mind you, my toe probably wouldn't be well enough for me to ski at Easter anyway  Oh well, have a great time, and see if you can find somewhere suitable for me to stay - there might be a very small studio self-catering place that costs the same or less as a chalet or hotel. I like places with easy piste access and near to the food shops. I hope the snow holds out for you - I think it's still looking pretty good at the moment :D Best Wishes, Ally |

I'm very sorry, Dave, but I never learned to dance
But I find ski-ing is like dancing, when you get it right, and I mean the old-fashioned sort of dancing - not just bouncing about in a disco. I'd love to be able to waltz, but my husband's not interested in having dance lessons and I wouldn't fancy learning with anyone else. Ally |

Hi Caron, 2:30 a.m. is a ridiculously early time to get picked up. I hope you manage to get some sleep somewhere along the way :D I hope your shoulder recovers soon. I damaged my rotator cuff last March, moving a very large flower pot, and it was months before it was better, although I went to see the osteopath about it and put ice on it. I think it might have been my own fault for continuing to work and lift heavy weights with it. I would say your shoulder needs rest as well. I hope Arabba has lots of suitable chairlifts for you to sit down nice and comfy on. Ally |

Johnski,
I tried looking at your video tonight, but my broadband is too slow at the moment. I'll have another go early tomorrow morning, when hopefully nearly all the people in my area will still be in bed, and not on their computers. The bit I could see, looked great - thanks very much for putting it up (with Pablo's help) :D Ally |

Yes, thanks Eggman, that's the one - its full name seems to be 'St Gervais - Le Fayet'. There is a direct TGV from Paris to it during the winter, but unfortunately it leaves too early for me to catch it, because I've got to get the Eurostar from London first. But, at least the quickest trains with the extra change are only 1/2 hour slower (5 1/2 hours from Paris versus 5 hours). And there are lots of different routes to get from Paris to Le Fayet. So I should manage it okay. And I think there's a night train back to Paris, so I will be able to get my extra, or 7th day, of ski-ing in :D And the night train has a couchette/sleeper option, so I won't have to sleep on the floor in the buffet carriage again :D We just have to find a date that suits all of us - and anyone else that wants to meet up and get in Salski's photograph  But we have a very, very, long time to wait  Ally |
