Great report Jim

Well done for ski-ing the reds on Friday after your nasty fright on Thursday. And I'm glad to hear you went through a slalom course as well :D

Hi Scarlet Fez,
Three stars is not a bad rating - it means you are 'okay' - not poor or excellent, but okay. So I'd keep going with your comments, if I was you :D

You rate other people's comments by clicking on the box in the bottom right hand corner of their message, once you are logged on. It gives you the option of rating their post from one to five stars.

And the rating you personally hold is a moving average of all the grades you have been given by other people on your posts. So if, for example, you have only ever been graded once, and that grade was 5 stars you yourself will be rated 5 stars etc. etc.

Hi Sm4sh,
It's nice to hear from you again :D

There was a thread on this subject recently, here: http://www.j2ski.com/ski-chat-forum/posts/list/8156.page

I think almost everyone was in favour of getting some practice on an artificial slope here in the U.K. first, before going on holiday, but there were a couple of us who had negative feelings regarding the dry (or mat) type of slope as compared to the articial snow. However, as you say, lessons on the outdoor mats are much cheaper.

I guess it depends on where you live, in relation to the proximity of the nearest artificial slope, and how much money you can spare for lessons.

Tony,
Are you still going at Easter? I'm sorry to hear about your job
With this recession on I think quite a few people have lost their jobs. Three members of my family have lost jobs as well. Best of luck with finding a new one :D
What type of work are you looking for?

Hi Dustyfog,
For some reason, I can see it now. I hate to admit it, but I think your 6 year old was better than me even at the beginning :D

It's marvellous to see how he improves as the video progresses. Well done to everyone - him, parents, coaches, whoever.
