Just been having a play with mine. The strap presents the clip at the correct angle such that just grabbing hold of the pole offers the clip into the receptacle. Release is done by pushing a thumb down onto button on the top of the pole.
I'd suggest that whatever you do you make it a single handed operation to either clip or unclip. I was wondering aboult a much cleaner system using electro magnets but that's a different topic. Owen. |

Glad to help. Lots of people seem not to get the idea of these things but for me it seemed a logical evolution of poles. The poles are specific to the system so Leki's system is not retro fittable to existing kit. (If you made some you could be in with a winner.) Leki will either sell you gloves with the clip built in, or an "over strap" that is worn over normal gloves. Their original system was called "trigger one" the newer one is "trigger s". I've recently bought 2 pairs of trigger one (poles - edit) for £8 from ebay, and a set of over straps for under a tenner. (New straps £20 a pair, new poles £50 and up.) I really don't understand why all poles are not made this way... Cheers, Owen. |

Hi Iceman.
Not sure if I'm reading your post correctly. Do you want easy connection to your poles (like ski bindings to skis) or poles that you can drop and have them trail behind on a tether? If just the clip then leki make several flavours such as these:-
If you don't have the intergrated glove then there are straps that you wear over a normal glove and then clip into and out of the pole. I too hate the faff of forcing hand between a pair of uncoperative flat straps so will be trying some lekis in 16 ish sleeps time... The posh model has an integral hip flask too. Cheers, Owen. |

Wildly off topic I admit but have just watched an episode of "bones" where the lead male character refuses to wear a seat belt in a vehicle as it would slow him down exiting the vehicle in an emergency. I've heard real police officers and army soldiers say the same. Characters will also regularly talk on mobile phones whilst driving. (Also banned in a lot of Europe.)
F1 drivers used to believe it was safer to be thrown clear of an open vehicle in the event of a crash. Imagine that view being expressed today! It has been law to wear a seat belt in a car for (20ish) years as it's proven to be safer. Seems that people can find what they genuinely believe to be "proof" to suit any argument. To me it's all a level of risk. Some things increase risk. Be it a lack of armor, or an increase in speed or difficulty, or distractions such as conversation or music. Some things decrease risk. Speed limits, alcohol bans, legislation, training etc. I just wish we lived in a society where we were all able to determine our own level of acceptable risk. So often it is the acts of the moronic few that force legislation to limit the freedom of the majority. O.S. |

Thanks for posting this.
The more information the better when making a choice. Cheers, Owen. |

I couldn't agree more. Some designs change so last year's skis are out of date, but simple things like this are missed. How about something in the bindings to lock skis together to help prevent theft? How about an id chip? How about making them more comfortable to carry? It seems the more skis change the more they stay the same! I'd love the Dyson team to come up with some concepts... Owen. (Confirmed kicker, to keep on topic-ish.) |

I too was wondering if there was a human under the faceplate or if there were just ones and zeros scrolling down the inside of the visor! I'm pretty sure I saw it breath at one point though so it maybe Snapazzz is a human. (Or just a very clever terminator.) More videos please
