Well why didn't you say so then? Owen. |

Yes, BUT, the poster was trying to quote this thread so it doesn't count. :D It's dark o'clock and we're debating wibble on a ski forum. Is there a health warning on the home page? Owen. |

You need to highlight the bit you want to change and then press the button. This will put the code at the beginning and end of the passage.
Or click the quote button on the post you want to quote, and then chop out any bits you don't want. Owen. |

Right, that's it. Mr. Admin Sir? Please can we have a separate wibble forum? Better still can it be password protected? (We did this on my last club for secret / admin stuff.) Also if it's for adult members only could it be a little more erm... ...relaxed? Oh, I also hold Ally responsible for having to add "wibble" to my spellchecker! Cheers, Owen. |

Ahem, I hold Ally personally responsible for my CC bill! First the boots last year (after reading her write up). If it weren't for those I'd not have bought the skis to go with them this year. Nor would I require new luggage or have had to sell my left kidney for the privilege of someone lifting them 12 feet onto a plane and throwing them back down again at the other end. I'll accept payment in money trees or a ski lodge time share certificate… I'm prepared to offer a 5% discount for a hard copy of the romance thread  Owen. |

Tis something I've always wanted to take a crack at. I wonder if the angle of the lighting could make lumps easier to see than daylight? Certainly cycling fast at night used to bring out a big grin!

I'd like to respond to this one, purely in the spirit of healthy debate, not argument. I'm also not thinking of you specifically Tony as the view you've expressed seems shared across the board,…
As a relative newbie I stand somewhat in the middle on this. Yes some muppets don't seem to read any previous threads before asking a basic question. This bugs me too. On the other hand this is a pretty mature forum so some recirculation of topics is inevitable. Image if we said "Carving, sorry we discussed that in 2003, please think of a new topic!" As an example I recently I bought my first set of skis. I read some old threads as the most basic of all newbie questions is "what size skis should I use?" Now if I'd taken advice from a really old thread I'd have ended up with something 2m long. Even something 6 months to a year old might not have allowed for a small increase to allow for rockers. If a new thread is raised on an old topic I'd hope that an old hand would point the newbie towards an existing thread (maybe with a nudge towards using the search button). There also seems to be a fair amount of "this thread is crap" type comment. This seems unnecessary to me. If anyone doesn't see the relevance of a thread why bother posting on it? Cheers, Owen. |
