I'm getting Tony a pint in St Anton, when I see him.

D'you want one???

:D :D :D
I know I bang on about this, but...

YOU CANNOT OVERSTATE THE VALUE OF HAVING PROPER LESSONS IN RESORT.

Snow-dome instructors over here do some crazy things (so I hear) and charge a fortune for it.

Trying to teach yourself would be equally mad and possibly quite dangerous too. So please, do it properly and you will get maximum enjoyment from this wonderful sport.

It can be done - and I have done it!

I got a cheap return flight from Stansted to Salzburg.

Train from Salzburg to Jenbach.

Coach from Jenbach to Mayrhofen.

7 nights in Haus Georghine.

All of which were cheaper than the cost of the pass (around £125.00)

Good luck and please pm me if you want any info.

PS> I know exactly what you mean about Mayrhofen - this December will be my 16th visit.
I will economise where I can and as I need to in order to have as many holidays as possible.

There are some fantastic deals to be had (like the one TonyH has found for our week in St Anton in January).

Skiing remains a priority for me.

Oh, and it touched 50c here yesterday.

Has Alison vapourised yet??

It was a blistering 21c here yesterday (when the sun came out from behind the mass of cloud and the wind dropped.)

How did it taste (if you did)?

No. I was laughing so much, I had to move to the next restaurant for fear they wouldn't serve me at all!!

Any version of Beef does it for me, particularly McCoy's as previously mentioned.
