Tonyh is aware of this, but my GF won't be interested as she's a bit of a non-skier (GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!) so I will need to buddy up. If anyone else is in that boat, I'm very clean and don't snore much.
Re the cheaper Zermatt option, the advisory reports are very mixed, so probably not the best idea. The other chalet mentioned in Zermatt looks very swish..! |

There is another issue to consider with ski hire - insurance. Some cheaper rental organisations are, apparently, not properly set up insurance-wise.

The £504 option in Zermatt for that price. ) |

I know what you mean, some do look a bit rubbish (mine included, probably!) but you have to remember it's a safety item first and foremost. What I will say, is that you do very quickly get used to it and after a couple of days, no longer feel conscious of it. Also a lot more comfy than a hat - they don't itch!!

Of course, just bring your new helmet. ) |

That's all good advice from bandit - i have seen some absolute rubbish (bordering on unsafe) hired out to unsuspecting holidaymakers and would have been singularly unimpressed had I been the customer.

I've stayed in plenty of them and never been disappointed, given the relatively low cost involved.
They typify Austrian b and b, with warm, clean accomodation and a decent breakfast. Allhave a ski room, I think. Mayrhofen has many ski bus stops, so traipsing around after a hard day shouldn't be an issue!! In fact, more than one I have stayed at have been within 50 yards of a bus stop. Ski buses are free, btw. You really will be fine with one of the Snowhomes, especially at the price. Enjoy your stay. When are you thinking of going? |
