I've had Salomon and been disappointed cos they shrunk a lot.

Falke are really good, but my faves are Smartwool.

Aren't they bloomin' pricey though, when you think about it?

Ski Boot Fitter in London?

Look out for Terry I think his name was, a cross between an old Hells Angel and a retired Status Quo roadie. Grey pigtail and a beard you wont miss him.Know this may not suit but try and avoid weekends as they hire a lot of kit out and it gets busy with school trip fittings. That being said the early bird catches the worm.

I spoke to Terry at the Ski SHow a couple of years back and he is mega-knowledgable and clearly has a real passion for what he does. Well worth a visit, I would have thought.

Like your description too - very accurate! 8)

How do they feel different to stand up in?

(if its possible to explain.)

The Zipfit liner was fitted by cem from the start. Now, when I stand in the boot, I feel I'm standing square on the ground, as though I would be difficult to push over. I'm used to having to push my knees out to get the boots to be flat to the floor (snow), and do all sorts of weird stuff with my skeletal muscles to make my skis work. The work that Andi has done, means I can ski with a narrower stance and my skis will still work, and there is less strain on my back and knees :D

I'd been cautioned by cem to expect a little tightness during the running period on the Zipfits, as the filler material is settling. However they've been comfy from the outset :D

I'm not sure I like the sound of that Bandit.

Travelling alone ... UPDATE

Totally agree with all DaveMac has said.

I've gone solo a couple of times (meeting family a few days later) to Mayrhofen. Because I know the people and places etc so well, I can very quickly settle and enjoy the hoiday to the full, knowing where to go to see which people for a chat or a drink. If I tried it elsewhere I could imagine a somewhat lonely and unrewarding experience.
