On the snow front, was looking at a friends pics of the last few days and plenty of blue sky everywhere and not much sign of snow below 2500m. But it is forecast to get colder and snow later in the week, maybe. If we get another week of this we might have to start doing the snow dance or we might not have a base by 10 December.

For all you need to know about Les Arcs on facebook. (Public access)

Now that is very good, please see link in signature in future for facebook Les Arcs Winter details.
Just a quick update.

We had a look at the new Mont Blanc lift and piste area at the top of Les Arcs 1600 on Sunday. The Deux Tetes black piste is no more, they have carved up the black to allow the top of the blue piste from the new lift to link with the old piste lower down. I would grade the top of the new piste as a challenging blue looking at it without snow. At least Malgovert has not been damaged, just made easier to ski into the bottom section. Oh well, that is progress. The new lift looks very good and should help with the bottleneck coming out of Arc 1600 on busy days. The down side is that the off piste area underneath the new lift around the Deux Tetes and down into the forest will get skied out quickly now that it has such easy access which is a great pity.

Not much sign of snow below 2500m and even higher up it looks quite thin, but it is getting colder so finger crossed!!

If you want to see the pics of the new finished piste you need to go to my facebook group page. Link below. Now that facebook have changed the system for groups, I will be starting a new Les Arcs Winter page for the daily updates so that it will give public access.

The new link will be http://www.facebook.com/LesArcsWinter?sk=wall&filter=12

but I will not start posting much there until December. Hope that helps all those that want to read the daily weather, snow conditions and avalanche details plus what's on section without clogging up this thread to much. And of course look at all the pictures as the season progresses. I will continue to post the main details here as well. It seemed to work like this last season. Bye for now
If anyone is looking for studio or one/two room apartments in Bourg for holiday let or 2011/2012 season send me a pm or take a look at my facebook Les Arcs group.

There are also larger places, one sleeping up to 8 easily and another sleeping 20 plus for holiday lets.

These places are not mine, they belong to friends that are looking for holiday or seasonal rentals.

For season lift passes. You need to go to the following link before the end of November to get the pre-sale discout for the season. They are the same as the Edenski pass from last year.

Hope that give people some help.

Hi Cherokeefrance

Think you have not made a good choice if you want to rely on local transport, one bus every half hour most days plus a couple of lifts to get skiing. Will take about 40min each day both ways. Plus in Feb the campsite in nancoix can be above the snow line and the valley can be very cold if we have a good winter. You would be better off down at the campsite in Bourg St Maurice where many other camping cars stay. Then use the funi to get up to the main resort.

If you are tied into staying in nancroix now, then I think there are ski republic, ski set and Sport 2000 shops in Peisey or Vallandry, take a look at the resort web pages. I posted links earlier. Bourg and Les Arcs have better options if you change your base. Hope that helps.

Take a look at my facebook group about Les Arcs for loads of other info.
For all you Mountain Bikers, here are the new VTT videos from the summer, one with Kenny Belaey and another made by the local boys. Both worth a look. Enjoy!

Update for Les Arcs 23.09.2011

The links for lift passes are out, though not working yet.

Just a quick update re. lift passes. If you go to the following link you will see the details of lift pass prices for the coming season. Seems to not be online yet, but worth giving them a call next Monday to ask more.

I will try to find out more re. last seasons special 'Ednearc' pass and whether those not in La Plagne still need to get this for the full discount. Hope to post more early next week.

Regarding Nirvanalps points and possible discounts for owners. Go to the next link, as always they have not put it all in English. There are two systems, Classic and Premium. You need to read it all, still not that easy to follow. Good luck! Anyone that uses this, please post what happens as this would be helpful to everyone.
