It's Easter so there's some more people in town and it's a good time to get away from the slopes and enjoy some less frequented areas so we headed into the vallon de Réchy for a short tour of the Becs de Bosson.

Everyone that arrives at the cabane gets the once over by the cabane dog, she takes this pretty seriously and runs out to greet everyone who arrives barking to announce them before doing the rounds of the tables to see what everyone is up to.

Sometimes, it all gets a bit tiring though and a short rest is needed

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,

... so we dropped in here to avoid it

As for skis, if Stockli Stormriders can withstand ise, they should last you a while

I snapped mine but that's probably unusual.

That's amazing, walking/climbing all that way at altitude wearing ski boots and carrying skis. I get exhausted walking 100 yards from my apartment to the nearest lift.

The skis, bindings and boots are all a lot lighter than the ones you'd use on piste which is just as well as there's a lot of other kit to be carried around like ice axes, crampons, ropes and climbing gear.
Not a bad day out, the forecast was a bit hit and miss but it came good and we were above most of the weather. It's great to get up to altitude to ski as well.
