Im Intermediate/advanced and my partner and 3 kids Very good intermediates. Not bothered about night life but need some slopes to test us all, not just going through the motions. Self catering also as we can take loads of stuff with us for the 3 teenagers who eat us out of house and home. Most of all lots of snow making just incase it doesnt snow.

Quickly browsing Neilson web site Ive found La Tania, self catering with lift passes £2241. Problem is Ive been spoilt with Italy the friendly people, value prices, good lifts and some nice pistes which Id really like the kids to experience.

The 1st week in Jan I mean flying on the 2nd or 3rd.

Im trying to think of some where to go for the 5 of us in 2010, 1st week in Jan. Do i wait or leave till later to book? and most of all where the hell do we go.

Ive been following Tonys "help me with my shortlist" but when ever I check them out they are just to expensive , got a wedding to pay for next May :-)

La Tania seems a good price and we popped there in Jan this year and it looked ok. Lots of snow making in the area just incase same with Les Menuires I expect and that would be cheap also. Its just expensive when your there!

I loved Italy and Livigno looks ok but the transfer ffsake 5 hours . The rest Ive no bloody idea but all the places in the Dolimites just seem out of our range, price wise.

Give me some ideas please and once again not Bulgaria!

Think i may get WTSS!

Were not far off the play offs, so you never know.

Forgot to say my partner had an hours ski tuition so me and a mate had an hour and then the 2 boarders had an hour. We all came back after an hour and were buzzing. Well worth the money and the time spent with such small groups did a world of good.

Girlfriend did 3 blacks (thats pistes by the way) before some smart arse gets clever.

Whats WTSS?

1st day in Arabba we did the Punta Rocca as its the highest point you can get to and it was a very clear day so the views would be excellent. Even with the amount of people with the same idea on the Sunday which included locals we got to the top ok with some excellent skiing from Arabba.

The Sella Ronda Circuit (clock wise) was ok with again no real ques and we were warned we may have to walk slightly which was true as you have to walk over a bridge to a lift. Helped with getting your bearings as well.

Snow cover was the best they had, had in over 50 years so we were spoilt really. Piste map isnt great but its easy to work out where you are and was easy skiing back to the resort. Lifts were fast and the longest i had to wait was at the "Hidden Valley" which was 40 mins and if Id known i wouldnt of bothered. Got to say the lifts from Arabba to different points of the Dolimites were 2nd to none, it was pack em and stack em in some lifts and a woman could get pregnant and never know who the father was people were so close.

Food and drinks much cheaper in Italy than France. Even on the mountain they dont rip you off which i found they did in France. Night life quiet and a beer 3.30 Euro :)

The whole experience was so good Im moving towards going to Italy again. The peolpe the lift system and the prices were so good.

The main 2 lifts are just behind the church which had very very random bell ringing
