Helmets

Bought a helmet for this year. Not much between my ears but I value it.

I figure that the long, boring chairlifts will be a good place to turn the volume up and get "in the zone". So has anybody got any good suggestions for tracks that can get me pumped up for some hard, extreme off-piste action?

Also, do skiers listen to the same music as boarders? I do both, but would some tracks work better for skiing than boarding? Tighter turns = quicker tempo?

Hmm, 21st century mountain awareness issues - bring em on!

I chat to my firends on the lifts and moan about how long they are. Would not want to ruin that annual exerience with music! :)
Anyone been to Champagny en Vanoise ??

Would agree. Stayed Montchavin last January (loved the palce going back jan 7th) but Champagny if memory serves me right is a long haul from les Arcs. The skiing in Les Arcs is amazing. The Vanoise Express which links Les Arcs and La Plagne is terrifying!!! but wow does it open up both areas.

A personal suggestion would be (if you can). Go to a local dry slope and learn how to 'snow plough'. Nothing else just plough.

When we went skiing the first time a friends uncle taught at a dry slope so we had 2 lessons wiht him for an hour each. The benefit is that when you arrive you don't get put in the complete begineers class. Worked well for us.

Enjoy your holiday and don't be afraid to ask any questions. Like the other person said skiing is very addictive and can end your summer holidays forever. It is worth it though. Snow, cold and 6000 feet (and a bar) is where my heart is.
