Can't help with specifics, Bill (welcome to J2Ski BTW) but keep in mind that Xmas Eve is the main event in France and even the biggest hypermarkets may be shutting quite early.
See if you can find a store finder on the French websites for the various supermarket chains (Champion and Casino are fairly widespread). |

That used to be the case 5 years ago but both BA and Swiss do good pricing per leg now, so unless you've got a very special deal on a return, one-way is much cheaper.
That's just not true. The main three to Switzerland (BA, Swiss and EJ) are all pretty competitive, and all effectively use dynamic pricing to some degree so you should always shop around. We've had trips where BA and Swiss have been cheapest, but our next flights are with EJ as they were half the price for the dates we wanted. GummyBear - a quick check on 2nd week of January shows BA one-way from 54 pounds, and EasyJet 57 quid (22 for the flight, plus one hold bag, plus ski carriage). Doesn't look too bad? |

Quick heads-up for anyone travelling to/from the mountains this coming weekend...
UK Weather Warning - Friday 16th December The Met Office have issued a warning for a Storm likely to affect much of the UK on Friday. Very strong winds, rain and snow possible to the North. Alpine Weather - Friday 16th through Monday 19th December As the above storm system reaches The Alps, widespread and heavy snow is likely; reaching quite low levels at times. Although still a little far out in the forecast, this could be a snow event of some significance. If you're heading to The Alps, you should keep a close eye on the forecasts this week and prepare for snow-affected journeys. Could all J2Ski Snow Dancers please stand down until further notice? you have been heard! 8) ... and breathe. |

Temperatures will be up and down a bit for a few days, but nothing unusual, and look stabilising below the seasonal average (i.e. being bl**dy cold) for the second half of December. 8)
As you were. |
