a lot of good options,
you've got a couple problems with this, 1.)you're going to find that most people will post their opinions on skis, everyone skis differently, everyone stands differently, everyone is different, what works for one person isn't always going to work for another (i purchased a pair of Line Invaders last season, the guy at the shop said good for nice balance of mountain and park and pipe, well they are nice for the park, horrendous for downhill, way too soft for the speed i want) 2. you cant try out what you want as most twins are sold unmounted,so you'd have to buy then find out you don't like them, what you should do is look at reviews and yes get some peoples opinions and compile a list of the top 3 you think might work, and then find a resort, that will let you try them for a while, one of the mountains by me lets us do that, but really twin tips you're left kind of in the dark. good luck and good hunting  oh 08' line invaders, id give em a 3.5/ outta 5 they have some downfalls, -- too soft, i don't get enough pop off things like butters, but they are extremely light, and fun to throw around |

they are very soft, i figure they are gonna be good for pipe, and boxes, but im afraid that they wont have enoough pop for getting off those jumps |

so im back with some more questions hope anyone has the answer.
I went skiing last year with brand ne elan flow 8.1's, long story short i eded up plowing into a snow fence, the skis were fine, but the only thing was the plastic tip on the end of the ski popped off (dont ask me how, but the impact was strong enough i guess). i was able o stick it back on and i had no problems the rest of the season so i got my skis out to wax em for this season figured i would gorilla glue he heck outta them and i forgot,i skiid on the 2 times in december nothing happened so i figured i was in the clear. so i went skiing today, and the first ten minutes im at the mountain i get on the lift, and i look down at my skis cause im stretching my legs, and i notice, oh shucks, its gone. so i skiid back to the lift, and its gone so im screwed. and i look like a moog. anyone help me? |

well what i would do is to go to a ski shop
out where i live there is a seasonal ski shops, they are ope from sept. to june. there they have any and all skis/ snowboards imaginable all the acessories, and apparel and ski tuning equipment you could imagine, what they also have is the ablity to buy used equipment, skis/boots snowboards/boots, this is nice because they price rental equipment for lower as you use beginner setups, and higher for better skis. most times you can find sales for specials they have, the best to do is not to go right at the end of the season but right before, as they will raise prices slightly at the end as they have caught on to this trend of buy at the end of the season, for example, i bought my skis( elan flow 8.1's for 499 this years model 08's as wll as rented m boots, tecnicha entry x2 for 39 dollars {the amount on sale mins 100 dollars if i choose to return em not charged 100 dollars, but if i keep em then they charge the 100 dollar, im stepping into better boots next season} i also bought my bindings for 150 with install for free, the are elan L10's, so not bad for a 6-700 dollar setup) they have all these options and the people were knowledgeable, and they took the time 45 mins- 1 hour to help me find what was needed, including boot fitting with the boot shell empty for my foot, and weigting out my binding for resistance and proper fit, i was also able to snag a pair of good goggles that fit me perfectly for 20 dollars, when goggles that were 85- 10 dollars didnt fit me at all. over all service was impresive, they also had enough ptex and wax to make your head spin, one of the few ski shops in my area that still had hand tuning as an option. over all its al dependant on where you look and do your research. |

hey guys
my friends and i were looking at places to go skiing, and we wanna go somewhere that has some long trails, i saw killington has a 10.2 mile trail but it is green circle, we were thinking more along the lines of black diamonds, or at the least blue square. any suggestions mad river glenn is always a possibility as it is natural and no snowboarders allowed |
