well trencher this is partially true, i want to dabble in it, but for the posts i had earlier, it was basically a question stemming from a yard sale incident i had in which i shot off of a plateau in the trail, and wasn't able to land properly, i am very weary of me trying any freestyle stuff, as my knees and my achiles are not in the shape they used to be when i played sports in HS, i wanted to get into more racing type skiing, you know , pushing the envelope a little and taking my self with my elbows right on the snow, along with fresh powder skiing if i could ever get back out to Colorado out there once when i was 8 i vaguely remember it. |

hey,
recently i went out to get myself a new boot, i went to my local shop and they were having a deal on boots, you pay a certain price, depending on what boot you choose, then you rent them for a season if you like em then you pay 100 bucks and there yours, nice deal i say. i want to step into a better boot, i am running with tecnica entryx2 boots, they have been a good pair of boots, fairly comfortable and warm, but i want to upgrade into something more ADVANCED persay something with a canting system and fully adjustable straps all the way up and down the boot, as well as a ski hard/soft option (dont know exactly what those are called, let me know if you do) what is good to look at, for next year |

lol funny you ask,
my dad has just turned 66, hes old as balls( and i'm only 20 as of this coming Monday, the 3rd he hasnt been skiing for 11 years i actually got him out about 1 month ago, taking into consideration he f***ed his back up and has problems with his knees, he got right back into it with his knees locked together, he has skied all across the country, and canada as well as germany (ZUGSPITZE), he raced a GS race in vail sponsored by SCHLITZ ill post a photo with this post, he did alright, he tried out for the US SKI TEAM, but he wasnt as insane as some of the guys that tried out, he has taught me a lot about skiing, and i take his advice over anyone else's as of right now. (note the patches are on my ski jacket right now and i love to get stopped and asked by people if their mine and if they could meet my father and chit chat with him
i do feel intimidated by using those size skis, but i might as well give it my all, since my dad could, then why not me |

ski boards look a bit more like they would be fun as you could obtain higher speeds as they have legit ski bindings, but as for me, its shaped lengthy skis all the way, and if i really feel daring ill give monoskiing a try, that looks like fun, hard but fun.
by the way, my dad has been pushing for me to use his rossi's they are gS skis, straight shape, and at 206cm i think ill step in em one day one day |

tony, i have been doing mine and my friends skis for a while, i have found the best type of wax would be anything from TOKO, or SWIX, they are not cheap companies, but they have been around the longest and have given me the best results, its about 55 doll-hairs (dollars) for the big blocks which are roughly 900 gram bar, it is CH6 rated, kinda to be honest no idea what that means, i believe its the rating, definetley look into reviews of waxes, as you want a good quality wax that wont keep rubbing off your ski quicker than normal
feel free to add, anyone i may be wrong |

ohh as well, i did check the bindings with my dad as he used to race GS
he stepped on the back of each ski and had me lift my heel up and foward as much as possible, and he also made me shift my weight side to side to make sure it was ok for me to use |

well you all have good points
but here some more tidbits of the situation: 1.) if you go to elan's website (www.elanskis.com)you will be able to see what im about to explain, the way my bindings are placed on the ski is from a system called the "fusion" rail system, it allows me with basically a quarter to adjust my binding length to accommodate any size boot on the trail, they have a locking mechanism that you must open with something to pry , like a coin per example, the DIN setting on the binding are also easily adjustable on course with a coin as well, so i am sure that the bindings are set properly, and spaced perfectly to my boot, as none of my friends have felt the need to pop into my skis, 2.) and the whole reason i walked out of my binding was because i was taking a turn with an angle that i was positioned at that my knuckles were on the ground and i was nearly lateral on the slope, fun times until you get screwed ahah. so im not to worried about the bindings ohh and thank you trencher for the advice you guys have any tips on what kind of boot i would want to explore, im using technica entry x2, good boot for me, but i want something that is a little bit more performance, as well as a good canting system 8) |
