Have a great time Wickers...you usually do!!
Just back from La Thuile......def not many boarders around although I skied with 2.

I am also helping to organise a school trip for 16-18 year olds. We have 40+ interested and no boarders among them. A few years ago I would have expected 25% to be GAYS but when I asked they just said it was not COOL any more 'cause you can do more and better on planks!! -)
End to ski hosting in France

No they are not. They simply state that chalet host is not allowed to host on slopes. If he wants to guide on slopes he would need to be qualified, regardless of where he comes from.

But that is really the point....do they need to be qualified instructors to "host on slope" or will a knowledge of the area..(and perhaps that needs defining) be OK. The French seem not...EU and UK law may see it differently. AS I said before soon they will want to "host" apres ski as well. In the UK we do not require UK only instructors to guide people in our hills but we do hope they have a good knowledge of the area. Good host training in situ may be the answer.

End to ski hosting in France

I have just got back from La Thuile....Italy but joined to La Rosiere...France. Apparently the Crystal reps have been stopped hosting guests to France and can only ski with them in Italy. It is absolutely crazy...and will not go over all the relevant(and non relevant posts)other than to say that hosting is NOT teaching providing that it is made clear by the TO that they are not providing lessons.

If the French...or whoever get away with this blatant act of "jobs for the Boys" they will bring in another law which only allows French people to Apres Ski host around the local bars and clubs.

Vote with your feet....don't go to French resorts (I do like them though). This may do several things
1. Force the Major TO's to take legal action 'cause they are losing business
2. Make ESF get off their high horse 'cause they are losing business
3. Make the EU enforce EU law...but then again if the French don't like an EU law they usually ignore it anyway..
3. Play them at rugby again and give them another thrashing! :)

Vive La anywhere else in Europe!!
