Haha, def not. I am always in Niederau for my birthday, (I have been getting away with this for years!), and base myself there for 2 1/2 to 3 weeks every year. Although I still do most of my skiing in the village, I drive out to other valleys, go and watch the Hahnemkamm, or a training day, and generally ski, paint and meet up with loads of people I know.

But last year before booking up, I looked all ways at getting across from the J2ski trip in France to Tirol, but it would have meant losing a days skiing.
This year, I just have to get back to Tirol on the Sunday.

After skiing in Scotland in February, I will be out again in Austria for another 2 1/2 weeks in March, some time in Niederau, and somewhere else, not yet decided. All covered by a regional season pass.

I have skied with many J2skiers, (and still ski with many each year), and with the odd exception, really enjoyed the company.

Skiing with Admin was a tad brutal, he likes to take up the whole width of the piste!

Yep, if the circumstances permit, I would love to meet up. It would be difficult to get a whole week, ~ my season is short enough as it is....

Dave, you must copy and paste a lot …I am sure I have read all that before -)
Should i go to Austria.

stevesmoothie wrote:That was in Val Thorens a few years ago. It was enough to put me off for life, plus that and Mrs Smoothie refuses to fly to French airports after a horrendous departure from Grenoble (same trip). Never been to St Anton but now I know the beer price I don't think I'll bother ;-)

Val Thorens is on my list of places not to go, I tend to stick to the lesser known resorts skiing is great prices are bearable and they are really pleased to see you -)
I think the train is the most expensive form of transport in getting to the alps ….. it is cheaper to fly or even drive
Go through the on-line shops and see which shop stocks what and like another poster said switch around and see what suits you best 8)
I have been in some very cold conditions when a mask might have come in handy especially on chair liftswith the winf chill :(

Normally for me one Jacket and one pair of Sallo's more than enough for six days skiing
