Dry slope can be tough going but will stand you in good stead for the real stuff which you'll find much easier. I think people on here will agree that if you can grasp the basics on a dry slope you'll find it much easier skiing on snow.

Ours were an hour. Keep an eye out for special offers. We got 2 lessons for around that price if my memory serves me right.

We went to Snozone in Castleford and had a couple of lessons before our first ski trip last year and it really did help. It gives you a feel for snow and it's a good introduction for first time skiers. I would definitely recommend it. There is also one in Manchester which might be nearer for you as I see you live in Stoke.

12 days till we go to Andorra but only 6 sleeps as I have 6 night shifts to work in that time! For once in my life i'm saying hooray for night shift!

I bought some salice sunglasses last year for skiing for £40 from my local outdoors shop and they were great! Tried to find a link to them online but i can't but i'd say they're a brand worth lookng at as they seem to be cheaper than oakleys
