oops forgot to say we are flying in Salzburg - looks like hiring a car or two might be a better option. Would be be advised to hire tyre chains as well?

I'm new to this skiing lark, first trip to Kaprun at Christmas and I'm really looking forward to it. :lol:

I'm trying to sort out travel from airpot to Kaprun or Zell am See, is there a bus route from the airport? I'm a bit confused cos I thought I had found the bus timetable but when I telephoned the Austrian office they said there was only a train route to Zell. The price I saw was 10.60 euros but the price quoted by them was 19 euros. I looked into taxi prices but we are 2 families (10 in all) and they were ridiculously expensive. Any advice/information would be greatly appreciated.
