Hi,

I agree LOTA, for the brits to have a skier who is a regular feature in the top 15 to 30 placings is a major acheivement, seeing as most Austrian children are born with skis on ,and in the french alps etc instaed of doing the normal sports at school they spend the days skiing up the slopes.

For Chemmy to get the results she does (and all our other winter atheletes) is on par with the England football team winning the world cup every four years....it's just ashame they don't kick a ball or throw a cricket or rugby ball, maybe then the government departments responsible for sports funding would increase the funding and let are sportsmen/women to be able to compete on a level field with the other ski nations.

Go Team GB

I think, Jon, the women's combined was run yesterday evening UK time, Chemmy finishing 11th.

Do you mean GS or Super G?

Hi,

If they keep adding charges it will soon be cheaper to drive to the alps if three of four can share the car ,or if you plan going to the Tarentaise resorts ....let the train, take the strain :D

Hi,

48euros to hire chains is not actually a bad deal, in superU depending on which type ( Diamond Pattern or Ladder Pattern) ,make , tyre size and size of link you can pay anywhere between around 30euros up to and over 180 euros the last time i checked.

I brought a pair of Ruud chains off the the internet a few years back for around £45 for an old peugeot 306 ,so your deal was pretty fair....although you did not get to keep them which I suppose is the down side.
