Ski School in Bardonecchia
Started by User in Italy, 3 Replies
Does any one have any experience of any of the ski schools in Bardonecchia, four of us going in March, 1 beginner, 2 Ints and a border. Same goes for the sk hire, not looking for the cheapest but best quality.
Be grateful for any info guys.
All booked but boy is the time dragging now :(
My wife, son and I are looking at Madonna di Campiglio this season (end Feb, early March) having been to Niederau two years ago (1 week, as newbies with lessons, thoroughly enjoyed it - got the bug :D) and Maryhofen last year, (2 weeks, lessons for 1st week then I broke my arm  not good, wife enjoyed it too - not the break, the skiing
The wife is probably at a higher level than me now, but we want somewhere that we can both be ok at ( and I can get my confidence back) and Madonna seems to fit the bill.
My son is a very good intermiediate on ski's, this year he is boarding as his first with his own board, so I hope the place will be ok for him as well.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated ? (before you say it I know...don't break anything )
Mayrhofen & Niederau

Can any one advise on the similarity (or not) of runs in Mayrhofen & Niederau. ie Are the Red 19 or 23 in Niederau like any of the runs in Mayrhofen, in terms of difficulty/ or ease depending on your point of view.

Was in Niederau last season and going to Mayrhofen on the 17th Jan for 2 weeks, (can't wait :D :D :D).

Just trying to get a feel for the place before we go.

A big thankyou to everyone who has replied.

Thanks for the replies guys. i'll take it on board.

Tony_H, got our own boots now, I had bad experience with boots last season so we took the plunge and bought our own (custom fit) for this season.
Regarding ski's is there any disadvantage for a relative begineer to use the higher quality ski's that you would get in the gold package ?

Do either of you have any suggestions for ski school there seem to be quite a few in Mayrhofen ?

Going to Mayrhofen in January for two weeks, one good intermediate and two begineers - one week experience last season each.
I've noticed that there are several ski schools in Mayrhofen.

Does anyone have any info on whether one is best/better than the rest?

Can any one advise on the best rental shops for ski hire in Mayrhofen.
Not too worried about costs, more interested in quality kit that won't let us down (one good intermediate, two begineers - 1 week each last season)
Opinions of where not to go is just as relevant

Going Jan 17th for two weeks - can't wait!! :D

Thanks in advance

Tour Operators Ski Schools Niederau

Glyn, Got back from Niederau on Sat. (2nd feb) after a week of instruction with the WILDSCHOENAU ski school, (pre-booked through Thomson), having started as a beginer. We were on Red 19 by Wed pm ! Although I have no experience of ski instruction I though the standard of tuition was excellent and we had a fantastic time. One thing we did notice was how much fun the kids were having and how quickly they seemed to pick things up. Talking to parents who had kids in the red ski school, you can buy a lunch voucher through the school and the instructer will look after your kids at lunchtime, if you happen to be away on the slopes. As an adult I would have no reservations in recommending this school to anyone and we are definetly going back with then next year.
Have fun (I'm envious!!) Roger
