Mixed ability skiing trip to Europe

Les Houches and Balme are excellent ski areas to learn, full of gentle open blue run. what Chamonix lacks is green runs / paths. If you can get a few lessons in the UK before hand then is really an excellent resort for all abilities.
Come on SB, Sole guys trained under Jules and have plenty of world class clientele of their own. My point was only that when get boots properly fitted you are getting a shell, new liners, new foot beds.

Can I assume that we at least agree that if you are a going for such a niche high end boot just go to a proper boot shop who will do their job and provide you with the most suitable boot for your feet. You are clearly spending a considerable amount of time in them so why would you save a few 100$ not having them fitted.

UCPA in Chamonix + quite a few hostels there will get you close to your budget.
Sole chamonix custom liners and foot beds are part of the deal. If you are FIS standard you are spending enough time in Alps not to have to worry about buying in UK :-).
Am not sure there is a great value in asking for opinion from people or companies on the suitability of products for your feet. Especially given that a lack of ankle flexibility is a much bigger factor for most people than having additional support.

You need to get shell that fits and then have a custom liner and foot bed. I have a high instep but have no problems with my existing Lange or Dynafit boots simply because they were fitted properly. Yes it adds 50% to the cost of your boots but given you can put about 50 weeks on them is hardly a poor investment.

Guaranteed skiing on the glacier but yes is too early anywhere in world to get full vertical. If that is your date then best place to head.

I am not sure you need to worry about snow arriving in Cervinia. Consistently has the best early snow in the Alps and is open a few months before you arrive.
:-( lol that one went straight over my head, had never heard of it. Some top resorts on it although looks like you risk doing more driving than skiing.
