St Gervais this Weekend

After just spending the week in St G, I was told of a cheaper, on the mountain eating establishment, it was actually given to me by the guy from Resort Rides who transferrred us. Ski down the Finance run in St G, about halfway down on the right hand side, is an old cow barn, very small, just 4 table inside, many more outside, but it's cheap. We were paying 5 euros for a big baguette, with soft drink being about 3 euro's. I can highly reccomend it.It was much cheaper than spending 5 euros per soft drink, and 8 euros for a beer at one of the other mountain eateries.

Recommended resorts near Geneva?

Hi,
Could anyone offer me some advice on a ski resort, with in 1 hr of Geneva please.

As there seems to be very limited flights from Birmingham to Austrian airports, I think Geneva is the best option.

We travel as 4 adults and 3 kids, all the kids can do hard Red runs quite easily, 3 adults can do reds, one adult is still on the nursery slopes, learning.

What I was after is can anyone recommend a resort within 1 hr of Geneva, that caters well for intermediates, but has decent ski school for the learner. As we are only going for 4 days this year[Half Term too expensive]I didn't want to go too far once landing.

Thanks

Gary

I skied for the first time last year, We went to Filzmoos in Austria, only a small resort but a great starting place. We enjoyed it so much we are going back in Feb.
Hi, I skied for the first time this year with my family, and would really reccomend Filzmoos, I was advised to go there and its excellent, but as one other wrote stay in the centre, you can then crawl home from Happy Filzmoos.Ski schools are good and all speak english. I went down the e bay route for clothing, very cheap especially out of season as people are selling stuff they want to replace and youcan pick up bargains, any further info just mail me
