Guys,

Ok, so i haven't been skiing long and have yet to visit many resorts so i haven't picked up all the names properly yet.
Any chance you guys can tell me how i am supposed to pronounce some of the most popular resort names correctly? I am sure it will save me (and maybe others) looking a little silly sometime.

If you could just add names to the thread with a short description it would be great.

EG:

1. Tignes - My assumption is that this is pronounced 'Teens' as in teenagers.....

IS THIS CORRECT?

2. How about La Plagne ? Is this 'La Plan' ---- like plan/map?

Thanks all

jon

They look pretty interesting.
A good resource for learning for sure but not heaps of fun or a real substitute for the pistes.

Given my experience is yet to develop i would value your help on choosing a european resort for next Easter.

Because easter is late (25th April) which resorts are likely to be the best to go for?
Obviously i would rather not spend my days on slush so value your guidance here.

Judging by this year....maybe i should pencil in Scotland!

Thanks Bandit, i will look forward to the beer. However i have had my fair share of pies recently!

I am hoping he can work his magic on my ankles as i am spending a small fortune on compeed plasters right now.

Thanks guys for the comments but i'm firmly back on track. I was tempted by the cheap prices but a good fit is what i need.
My ankles are wide and one was smashed up and reassembled in my youth. So right now, whilst my shoes are a size 10 i am having to hire boots at a size 12 just to get the ankle feeling good.
Obviously this is not right.

My mind is rock solid now.

It was my evil, frugal conscience getting the better of me
I need boots that fit, my feet are crap and need more attention.

Thanks for setting me straight.....i'll get my coat.
