No need for jealousy  I still like you.

It didn't come off having been in the frozen wastes of the Uk prior to the trip or in the spa, so it must be genuine or top quality spray -)
IMO Tony you should have the canting checked first, at least it will rule it out if not the problem but it does sound as if canting is most likely the cause.
That age old insurance question

Remember that you should have hospital and other medical cover under European E111 card. However, this will not cover you for on piste injuries, but, depending on where you are staying opt for the local ski insurance at the resort when purchasing your ski lift. This insurance will cover you for anything on piste including helicopter removal and onward journey to medic centre or hospital whatever is required. This type of cover in France and Italy is usually 1.50euro per day. Hope this may help. Colpam

The EHIC will cover you for all A&E treatment skiing related as well, but remember depending on which country you're in you may still have to pay some costs for this, the rest is as Colpam states.
Ski & boot hire

Thanks colpam but these skis are not advanced enough for me, the ones I need are over € 260 so dearer than Intersport.

I have been looking at sport Conrad after seeing Tony's post regarding their deals & this what I have come up with & any info from members would be greatly appreciated.

Volkl AC 30 wide ride with marker wide ride bindings. €699 reduced to €299.
Boots Salomon Creation, whole package €498 + €25 shipping to UK.
The other boots I like the look of is the Salomon Quest around €80 more, the creation boots only have 2 buckles & I'm not used to that but are said to be really comfortable.Another prob is buying boots online, my feet are pretty good as I don't have irregularities so is it worth a punt?
SB it was the manufactures that state these screws are for canting ???
stolen snowboard

Tony_H wrote:Probably cheaper to book a holiday to Bulgaria and steal it back as that's where it likely to end up. Big gangs of thieves across mega resorts in France stealing skis and boards and using them as rentals in Eastern Europe, it was reported a couple of seasons ago I believe on various websites.

I bought a lock and then never bother taking I as it weighs a fair bit to cart about with me.

I found Bulgaria the cheapest place to buy new ski gear, even cheaper than Andorra so I'm surprised some would nick second hand gear to take it there, unless its for the hire shop opposite the Rila hotel.
I have canting on my old ski boots & I found that people didn't know about it or didn't want to know, so good luck with that one.
Ski & boot hire

I think its because things keep changing & you can win or lose depending on the times.
Many like to hire skis to keep up with the latest designs & their increased competence, BA used to let you take ski gear free, but not now & some airlines charge more for carriage than the hire charges & no lugging them around as a bonus.

I fully understand the difference between countries & resorts but still think £200 for 6 days rental is OTT & as you say 3 trips cover the cost of owning & something I'm now considering.
