Tony, can i ask a question? Do you have children? Would you put a lid on your kid? The last two years i haven't worn a helmet but i insisted my daughter did. I asked myself why. Basically i can't trust other people on the mountain not to hit her and if she was hurt i couldn't live with myself for not protecting her in what ever way possible. So with that in mind i asked myself why i wasn't wearing one too.....would it be fair to her if i could have prevented an injury to myself......i now have a helmet. Its each to their own.....no one should be made to wear them and no one should be ridiculed for choosing.. IMHO i look like a cock in one, and i don't really like it but i can't make my little one wear one without doing it myself. |

My Direct Travel policy is up for renewal this month and i was going to renew but i just noticed this :
What you are not covered for: "Any search and rescue costs (costs charged to you by a government, authority or private organisation connected with finding and rescuing you. This does not include medical evacuation costs by the most appropriate transport" I can't quite work out what they are saying here. thoughts? Do you think that getting dragged off the mountain is fine as long as no one has to actually look for you? |

Hmmm, i see how that would be easy for the one long trip but...... How about it i have 17 days in one trip then later in the season go for another week? Surely we could just not mention the first trip ? |

Literal translation is "route to expensive restaurant where you will be fleeced of all your hard earned cash, next time why not pack a snickers and a small can of coke"
