No its not framed, usually my hubby frames my tapestries and prints, but this one is waiting to be professionally framed, I will get round to it eventually.

Its certainly strange, I have no idea where I am going to put it. It does not fit well with my snow and mountain scene,s or Banksy prints.

I think I am still looking for my ultimate place. It has only been the last 5 years that I have been in a position to have a holiday of any kind. So when we booked our first mountain holiday it was with the intention of just having a hol in the snow, never gave a thought to ski-ing, but found an all inclusive holiday at Axamer Lizum, lessons, hire, ski passes etc. We had a great time, although there were quite a few things we did not enjoy, but used that holiday as a way of choosing the next holiday thus illiminating the things we did,nt like.
So, Axamer Lizum, we will always remember 'cos it made us love ski-ing. The slopes were great although some far too challenging for us at that time, may-be ok now. The view's and scenery from the top and the panoramic restaurant were spectacular. The instructors amazing although our snow board lessons were out of my league, in a group with all young lads who were a lot smarter than me, but we used the knowledge they gave us and moved down to the village found some big hills and taught ourselves and had great fun. The only drawback to Axamer, all the action is on the mountain which is a 45min trip on ski bus, last bus down at 4.30, which left you staying in Gotzens, which had 1 shop, 1 pub and nothing else, very bored in evenings. Next trip Seefeld, fell in love with the place, the hotel, the slopes, the shops, restaurants, the great day trips, the people and the fact that there were 3 ski areas all within walking distance, no ski buses. 200km cleared walks, 300km cross country tracks plus loads of extra activities. The scenery was amazing, the slopes all different levels and ski school brilliant. We then decided to have ski-lessons instead of boarding, although we still did some, again fell in love with ski-ing. Within 1 week of coming home had booked again for following year. Unfortunately that year not so much snow, so we had lessons on snow shoe walking and cross country ski-ing. Thats why we now do so many different things. Went to Seefeld again for the third time but used it as a base and travelled to different ski area's, this time did Mittenwald, Garmisch, Leutasch, Mosern and Igls. They all have their different plus,s but of all Seefeld is still my favourite. Next year we will try Ruka/ Finland who knows we may not like it or it may turn out to be our ultimate destination. Hubby would love to try Canada, but I hate flying and do not think I could stand the length of flight, plus a week would not be enough and its difficult for me to get more than a week at a time. |
