I'll guess middle of Feb - Finland school hols start 22 Feb. If Yllas is like the other Scandinavian resorts, they'll open up more lots more lifts a week or so before school hols. But why not contact the resort via the website?

Hi Evata. I don't know of any in Morzine. There are a few in Courchevel. Have you tried e-mailing esf in Morzine? They have about 150 instructors.

Cheers, all. I must say that the piste map is hilarious. Been trying to work out what is higher than what, with limited success. Gonna have to rely on memory or GPS....

Finland in April not possible with Crystal?

It's because Crystal is dipping its toes into the Scandinavian waters - Crystal has a shortened season for all Scandinavian resorts. If Finland is anything like Sweden and Norway, it should be very easy to do a DIY trip.

Good work, Admin - I presume the resorts are as good at flagging up the potential danger to skiers?

Thanks, Wanderer. The Grostl sounds just the thing for lunch. I'll keep an eye out for that. We definitely will be trying to get out to the different villages.
