We made no preparation for our holiday. No fitness regime and I think the only tme I suffered a bit from being out of breath was nightime snow shoe walking in thigh deep snow. Got a bit out of breath on that one. We had one of the most active weeks ever, boarding, skiing, iceskating, snow shoe walking, x country ski, hiking, ice karting, snow mobiling, 30k husky safari, reindeer sleighing and some nightime safaris.
The only hiccup for me was badly blistered feet which required the purchase of some lovely new seemless sorell boots and a spot of frostbite. Mind you we are both shattered this week. |

Yes just got back from Ruka/Northern Finland and still suffering with the frostbite. The feeling has come back a bit this morning, its itching like crazy. |

It swells because of tissue damage. Been asking around to-day and its best to leave it and just keep an eye on it. |

Managed to get frostbite under my chin. It came up the size of a large egg, scarlet and completely numb, it still is, but has a bit more feeling in it to-night. Did a 4hr snowmobile safari in -35. Rest of my body was lovely and warm but the cold just crept in. It was just the place that the strap on my crashelmet was so I thought it was that but spoke to the safari guide who had a look and told me what it was. |

I used to suffer with dizzy spells for the first three days of a holiday, with nausea. It could have been from the flying, the chair lifts the altitude. I was diagnosed with chronic anaemia, had it sorted although I needed a spot of surgery and a blood transfusion. Now no probs with lifts, flying, altitude no nausea or dizziness.
My only problem at the moment is frostbite, very painful and I am so cross I got it. |

I will never fly Jet 2 again. The plane had paint blisters every-where that expanded the higher you got. Their in flight meal, which they had the cheek to give you a cutlery set was a shortbread biscuit and an apple and a minute cup of coffee. The draft that came in from the windows was unbelievable. The fluorescent lights were on the blink and flashed all the way. The prob with the plane was the heating had packed up in the cockpit so the captain and his windscreen was frozen.
So glad it cost them a fortune to put us in the best hotel in the resort, I am afraid every-one used the minibars, everything and added it to their bill. Due to fly again to Lapland end of Feb, we are thinking of cancelling rather than go with them again. Trouble is Inghams told me that was the only airline they could get, they think they will possibly as well as Crystal pull out of Lapland. Still it must not detract from the holiday as it was just the best. I will post pics but I have to go to work, although I am shattererd. |

Well I hope Jet2.com sort themselves out. Just got back from Lapland with them 28 hours later than I should have thanks to their very, very old plane breaking down. Still at least they put us in a quality hotel for the night, so its not all bad. Plus the holiday was fab.
