Flew to and from Austria from Bournemouth with Austrian Airlines and they didn't bat an eyelid with boots as hand luggage.
Same with Flybe from Southampton to and from Bern-Belp. |

Just got back yesterday:
The village itself was quite clear of snow but there was a good couple of inches up the mountain - nice and crisp in the morning but softening up when the sun hit it. The village was very quiet. There was very little queuing for the lift and the ski school wasn't crowded. My novice/intermediate group started off with 8 but by day 5 had reduced to 3. There isn't a great selection of runs but there were enough to keep me happy. We were able to ski right down to the cable car quite easily if you were prepared for the ice. Can't comment on the apres as I wasn't there for that but the locals were very friendly and most welcoming. Skis/boots and sticks could be left at the bottom of the hill or at the top quite safely. Our rep said that occasionally people had the slope at Sunnbüel all to themselves. Flew out from Southampton to Bern-Belp and had an hour's transfer to the village. A very easy holiday. |

Somehow I don't think the Mrs would fall for "I was watching the lady in front to improve my technique."

But you wouldn't have to shoot me? |

It's been bugging me all night.

I wonder if over-tightening that screw is the cause of my inability to remain standing?
If not, there must be some other screw that you're not telling us about. |

Jan's hill has had a dusting so I expect the other side of the valley to have had some fresh snow too.
As I type the weather is cloudy at 3 degrees. No carving in my sleep but my desktop has a webcam and weather report from Niederau! Not to mention the Tirol calender with a snowy Oberau for January. Sad old git. |
