So no street cred for you Wickers :(

As I have plenty of street cred on the slopes & don't want it can you tell me what type of braces you use & if the toothed type do they damage your trousers?

Brooksy old boy ....never had any street cred as well you know, I always buy sallos with the braces connected, My sallos are like a Mercedes built for comfort

Coffee in the dolce place up the mountain in Tignes was € 4.50 thats a cafe au lait.

Beer near our chalet was €30 for 2 jugs holds 6 pints so 5€ pint ( maybe more if you buy single pints )

Hot chocolate €4

Didn't have any beer up the mountain as I'm a good boy -)

Crikey some spiteful comments about banter & thread drifting, nothing unusual on here on any subject, so stay calm & sift through the posts for relevance. -)

Gaz C wrote: So glad you're not going the on-line route :-) . Make sure you do Swingbeep's shell test with each pair you try and be prepared to leave the shop without buying if you are not 100% happy with the fit. Spending £50 to hire a pair in resort is a better result than being lumbered with a badly fitting pair.

Thanks Gaz, all advice gratefully received & noted & thanks to all contributors 8)

Have bag & poles in good condition with my old stuff, the boots are going in the bin & my fischer carvers may well suit my eldest grandson for the Chamonix Christmas trip. -)

So if I'm reading this right I will have to become an alcoholic to balance my hire costs,Hmmmmm :D

I have decided after getting helpful advice from a friend to order skis & bindings from Conrad & I have 1 day in the UK before leaving to ski. S&R are about 5 miles away from where I'm based & have 6 types of boot in my price range £240 so I should be able to get something that fits there & if not perhaps the last resort is the resort itself.
