Katschberg is a great little resort for a family, especially with younger children like your daughter. It's very family friendly so I am sure you will all have a great time.
It's got a greta snow record and the grooming was very good on my visit so I wouldn't worry about that. Can't comment on your hotel but it's a lovely little village which is cute and friendly and safe for your daughter. Most of the buildings are traditional austrian chalet style. The skiing is not massively extensive, but it's quite varied, and there's enough to keep you busy! You can choose to ski on either side of the village - the Carinthian side or the Salzburgerland side. The Salzburg side is bigger, with more chair lifts and some long runs down towards St Michael. The Carinthia side is shorter runs which mainly end up at or near the village again. there's a travellator in between the two sides so not far to walk! You will have a great time :D. D |

This year is looking like it has got off to a good start in Zell, with some lifts opening next weekend and the rest at the beginning of December. There is snow lying in the valley at the moment with another few days to come.
Suffice to say, Christmas will not be like last year! Obviously it's impossible to say what exactly it will be like, but the good start coupled with cold ground from a 'bad' summer suggest that what is there should hang around and make a good base :D. D |

Agreed, it must be. Am  at this thread though, how is it we know that it's THAT song, with only Woah oh oh oh oh to go on! Austrian ski anthems are classic, only in Austria though... Other memorable ones are: Schiiiieeeeeeeeee-Foahn! Ich will heim nach Furstenfeld (with intermittent faux yodelling) You're my mate And that country roads/west virginia one, with random slowing down and speeding up again - why do Germans and Austrians play it continually? Agree with Tony_H, they are mentalists. Happy sliding D |

Our apartment in Zell Am See is available for rent for the coming winter season and year round.
Skiing at Zell is both on the local mountain and on the glacier above Kaprun. Saalbach-Hinterglemm is just up the road. The apartment is ideal for 4 people, but could squeeze 6 in if you're friendly and want a bargain! Prices from EUR70 per night in the ski season, 10% discount for J2ski users. Check out our website for further info. Happy sliding :D D |
