Musically the Oasis gig was the best, only it scared me silly. It was at the rose bowl in Southampton, about 40,000 people. The gig started at 12.00pm, lots of other bands, babyshambles a no show (quite glad about that really), Oasis on about 8pm. So much time for drinking. I have never seen so many drunk and wasted people and a never ending supply of police and ambulances. Scared me to death.

Enjoying it but really disappointed about the tennis, thought Andy Murray was in with a chance for us, I think he is still in the doubles.

The Murray brothers bombed out of the doubles too. Andy Murray is the new Tim Henman - lots of promise and hope and then massive let downs. Funny how he seemed to perform better with money on the tour, compared to a totally demotivated performance in the Olympics. Its the pro sportsmen like him who belittle what the Olymppics is all about. Rebecca Adlington etc are worth far more than the likes of him and some of the footballers out there.

Yes totally agree where there's ranking points and money to be had they do tend to give a better performance. Please let him be better than Henman.
But great on our other athletes they done good.
Seeing as how we seem to be developing a music forum on this thread, and 'cos so far I hav'nt been banned for my music tastes. What gigs and live bands have we seen. I,ll kick off, although mine expand through a lot of years.

You are very brave (ok I know I am a big girls blouse,) but it is going to be bitterly cold. Also do you really think after one week on a school ski trip that you will be able to teach someone else to ski? I was quite surprised how little the ski school was. i think it only worked out at 138 euros for 6 days tuition.

The only place I have been was Soll in Austria but that was many many moons ago, but it had great varied nightlife then and the ski area was varied and had something for everyone. Like has already been said it might work out cheaper and more comfortable to get a self catering chalet between you. If you time it right you could get a good deal with easyjet.

I think you would freeze, camping in winter. I agree with every-one else, I think a package deal would be better and cheaper. Also we all get wet boots, gloves thermals etc, you really need some-where to hang them and dry out.
I have seen a camp site in Seefeld but all the camper vans in it have been
the huge, plush winnebago type vans with all mod cons including heating and showers.
Our first ever holiday to Austria was an all inclusive package, including transfers, flights, full board inc drinks, a weeks tuition and hire of boards and boots, a weeks ski pass. All for £450 each.

No dont think 'Toad the Wet Sprocket' made it over here, but they sound good. They remind me of some-one else, but just can not think who.

nice one.
So Tony-H who is your fav band? BTW mine is not aerosmith I just have a lot on my ipod, its loud and I put it on when I want to drown out other excess noise.
My favs are Levellers and Nine Inch Nails.

I have never had a favourite band to be honest, although I will always regard The Stone Roses as being someone I never tire of. I also listen a lot to better known bands sush as Arcade Fire, Maximo Park, Feeder, The Kooks, The Killers, The Verve, Kasabian, The Charlatans, Foo Fighters, Depeche Mode, but also a lot of lesser know bands like Film School, British Sea Power, The Last Shadow Puppets, and so on. I used to really like Oasis 10 years ago, but I have gone off them since Be Here Now to be honest.

I would do anything to see Arcade Fire live, and would also like to see how Kasabian have changed since I saw them in a bar in Peterborough in front of 25 people before they released a single! I would have loved to have seen the Stone Roses play live too, they were in a class of their own in my opinion.

Yes I like most of your first mentioned bands but not heard of your lesser bands, and I thought I was up on music.
I have lost count of the number of live bands I have seen over the years, but dont go so much now, get fed up of the a*******s that go just for a booze up and a fight
