Music. Well in my case i put the music there as there simply was no other sounds apart from the odd crunch of snow. The GoPro comes with two cases, a fully waterproof (which you need in snow) and a semi protective case. In the full case sound is almost blocked out. Editing. You can edit as much or as little as you like, i don't see much difference to a standard cam. Must have. Not really. But i think its nice to get great pics to look back on. I couldn't mount my fuji x10 on a ski pole and no one else was there to take my pics. So i guess for most its just a 'nice to have' £300. as posted they are much cheaper now. |

Chambery, oh chambery...... <rolls eyes> Been there twice now and on both occasions i haven't enjoyed it. First the positives. 1. close to the resorts. ADH is a max of 2hrs. Took us 1:45. 2. Baggage is quick to be off loaded. By the time you get through customs the belt will be turning. 3. The fancy pants doors make you smile and let you know your on holiday. Negatives. 1. It sits in a valley with a huge lake at one end of the runway and the ride in can be a little hairy if you don't like flying. I swear the wing tip was gonna strike the hill side at several points. 2. The lake causes fog. the airport is often closed because of this. This isn't so bad for ADH if they divert to grenoble. 3. Customs is a hut with a gazebo type thing in front of it, queues can be cold and long. Get off the plane quick and leg it. 4. the whole terminal gets very crammed as it is only the size of your average sports hall. expect to fight your way out with your bags. 5 Toilet queues are long for the ladies as already mentioned. If you need to the go on the plane or run to the terminal and get to the front. Return journey. Once checked in DO NOT got through to the departure lounge as it is small and has nothing to do in there and very little seating. Wait until the last moment before going through. Often they will not let you through anyway until you flight is called as there is no room for more than one flight at a time. Again, hope there is no fog. Fancy pants exit crap shopping |

Im sure it will, the sticky pads are quite thick and very strong. For skiing, the best positions would be: Pole Head chest Boot Ski front ski back pole vertical from backpack (like google street view cams) second person. wrist mount Ian, all positions look a bit crap if you are trying to look cool. My intention was to do the same run multiple times and with different mounting positions and the edit it all together, somehow i never really got around to it. Heres a ski mounted clip that gets real boring after a min, i think the key is to mix it up. You can always just hand hold it and film other people the way you do with a traditional cam but with the added assurance that if you drop it in the snow it isn't going to be ruined. |

If you shoot in 1080p then the field of view is much less. i think its about 120 degrees vs 170 at 720p 720p is good enough for most applications now. |

When i bought my skis they came flat pact with plastic loops that help the brakes up so they could be flat packed side by side.
I have also seen these retainers used to keep the brakes out of the way when performing maintenance (edging). I used them when transporting them on my recent holiday as it let them lay flat in my ski bag. Is there and reason i cannot leave these on in storage? It is better for me to be able to store them flat. |

I don't ski with it all the time, that would be too much work. It is surprising how much you miss that pole.....or on the other hand i found it quite surprising how often i didn't miss it....that sounds a bit weird doesn't it?? Holding it up can make your arm ache and you do get some 'looks' but thats the price you pay to get those pics when you are out alone. I used it for around 30mins each day. heres a link Im afraid the video isn't available on mobile because of the music i used on it. |
