Powder is not very likely as february-march are prime times however on the other hand it is not particularly icey as there is no chance in hell its going to see anywhere near zero on the mountain so the snow never "unfreezes" if you like. The chances are 100% of terrain will be open if the last couple of seasons are anything to go by and the terrain parks are starting to get up and running. If it is in the centre of Banff you are on to a winner. you will never be stuck for something to do and even if you are tired im sure you will make it out!

How about the Y Mountain Lodge.. look it up! Im going out for 3 months as part of a course and already have accomodation arranged there, havn't seen anywhere cheaper in Banff! Good choice. You can share a room with 3 others for $29 a night which by my rekoning is pretty damn good.

haha the request ive been waiting for since i started on J2ski!! im going back for my 5th time this year for 3 months! Theres usually a week arounid mid january where it hits -30 and even -40 on occasion, the usual time for a cold snap. Its not the cold you get here however it is a very "dry cold". Base layer, poloshirt, wicking layer, fleece, jacket usually does for me. Wind is at a minimum usually but at goats eye peak in sunshine and the peak of lake louise it can be quite exposed. There are plenty of sheltered areas when it snows and when it "winds"./ Where are you staying? I could answer banff questions all day haha
