The Snow Train isn't going to be operating next winter due to the recession...

There are a range of alternative options to get you to the French Alps by rail.

Either you can travel on the Eurostar Direct Ski train which runs convenient weekly services by day or overnight from London St Pancras or Ashford International stations direct to 3 stations in the French Alps.

Grande Terche itself might not be that great.

But just drive up to Avoriaz and you'll have better conditions.

The locals are saying that this years is meant to be a lot better than last year because some really odd thing are happening. (Such as mice were bigger than normal last month, wasps were out earlier, very random things like that - but that's the local old french farmers for you...)

If you go to Prestige Ski Hire they look after you well and deliver.

Lessons are good with First Tracks. Have a private lesson so once you've brushed up on your skills they will take you somewhere great rather than having to wait for the rest of the class to catch up...
