Little Bourke and Queen??????????
Auski have been there in Hardware Lane since 1949. Most of those stores have been there more than 4 years. I will check each store for your peace of mind. You must have had a "Great Time" 8) here not to have stumbled across these stores. I work at QV just a 5mins walk away. You are a Lad and legend ) |

How long ago where you here?
In Elizabeth St near the camera stores crush, the store is Altitude. Around the corner 50m away in Hardware Lane, Auski and Capitol 17. Little Bourke St in between Altitude and Auski, there is Columbia, Snowgum and Paddy Pallin. In the Commonwealth Bank Galleria we have Helly Hansen and North Face. Actually bought some ski socks in Columbia. Cheaper than last year! Not all prices go up. |

I went to the local Melbourne CBD ski shops today during lunch break. Great to see all the 09 ski
range in-store now, just adds to the excitement. Mentioned the quest for a womans helmet to the staff in 2 stores. They admit they have increased orders from last year because of the Richardson accident. I was told that similar incident happened in Germany? A politician collided with another and killed him. The next day all helmets sold out in Germany? Maybe an exaggeration, but it makes sense. I won't tell daughter about that German story, in case i scare her off the mountain  |

Thats a lot of facts!
Thats a lot of data! The risks are there in life, as we all know. I will advocate the helmet for my girls peace of mind and let her enjoy the subsequent rush of mastering the snow gradually with each lesson and trip. I thank you all for the logic and the statistics. Vince :D |

Thanks again. I will get her to read these replies soon.
I see the beginners classes going on and they seem to move 10m and then stop and so on down the slope. I see nothing dangerous in what they do and where they go. I suppose she will have to see the classes and see its pretty tame going. ) |

Trencher,
Thanks for the words and logical approach. I will mention it again soon to gauge the intent whether it was whimsical throwaway line or serious concern. :( |
