Any suggestions of where to stay iin Saalbach? Is it good for Christmas?

Please help we are a group of fairly new skiiers - will Niederau definately be a good place to go to improve our techniques - we prefer nice wide blues. We usually go to Alpbach but find it a bit limiting, will be going for new year, is the snow good enough then? Also what hotel - prefer 3-4* and preferably a pool but not too expensive.

I did wear a helmet, all the kids in his group weren't though, which doesn't help. We are going with another family and their son doesn't want to wear one, which is the main problem

Not many kids seemed to be wearing them last year, I was hoping it would be made compulsory
