Arcalis, Pas de la casa, Soldeu – El Tarter and the Andorra helicopter base (bombers) all have Recco. However, it's entirely inadequate as a safety device if you're intending to ski off piste and you need to carry proper material and know how to use it. |

warm's not really a big deal though, you can always use liners. The big deal is something you've got some sort of use of your hands with and is hard wearing, carrying skis and grabbing lifts wipes out cheap gloves quick. |

I'm not sure they're the top two gloves, I've some light BD gloves that I use for touring and climbing and they are good though. The best gloves are probably the pro range from Hestra, my current pair have are on their third season and they're in fine condition still. I use them winter and spring and they're just fine, slightly hot to climb in but otherwise perfect. |

among other places I think, there's a 22km run in Zermatt and I can think of some others that must be 12km as well. |

There's the Wilde Grub'n IIRC, brilliant long unprepared run down to the valley station. |

The closest and best area would be the Stubai, it's linked by a ski bus to the centre of Innsbruck. There's several distinct area in the valley and all are good for boarding. The other "must visit" station would be Axamer Lizum but this gets busy at weekends as it's a favourite boarders station for Innsbruck. I think a Stubai pass would cover Axamer, or at least it used to. |

Not surprising though, they'll be on the nursery slope so you'll not be using them as a norm. I can't really speak for La Plagne but most stations have them and the tourist office will certainly know. |

remontées or remontées mécaniques :D like pushers offering the first fix for free ski stations like to get you hooked :D |
