The Grand Tourmalet (Bareges-La Mongie) resort is the biggest in the French Pyrenees, but it is a fair way from Perpignan. The skiing there is excellent, and the prices are up to 1/3 cheaper than the Alps, so definitely worth a try.

We're in the French Pyrenees Bareges-La Mongie (West of Andorra) and have had 70 cm of snow in the last 36 hours. More is forecast for the rest of the week. Should be something similar where you're headed. If you don't take your new skis you'll regret it!
I'm on the scene in the French Pyrenees. We were skiing thigh-deep powder today with 70cm of fresh snow and its still coming down hard. More snow forecast over the next week or so. This is our biggest snow fall in two years. Despite a really odd Winter this year, it looks like the last three weeks of the season will be fabulous.
Looks like you'll probably be OK pretty much anywhere this year. We've just had 70cm of snow in the Pyrenees (falling to about 600m altitude 20th March) and it's still coming down. More snow forecast for next week too. Not sure if the Alps are getting it too, but conditions here in Bareges-La Mongie should be good for the next couple of weeks. The Pyrenees are great for families and a bargain alternative to the Alps. Our catered chalet prices start at £315 per person for an en-suite family room, and lift passes over Easter are only 102 euros for six days.
3* catered chalet in Bareges - largest ski area in the French Pyrenees. En-suite bedrooms, sauna, lounge with bar, delicious food.

We have special offers running between now and 15th April. Lift passes are also discounted over Easter (102 euros for six days). 70cm of fresh snow today - the biggest dump for two years. Prices from £200 B&B, £315 half board (including wine).
