Who wears a helmet?

You lost me icy.....please re read my comment

Well i must admit i don't really pay too much attention to the snow reports unless I'm going to a certain resort but tonight i noticed something.

Morillon is reported at 340cm ....... Bull
and Flaine is reported at 340cm ........ possible

are they the same because they are both part of the grand massif and individual resorts now report the maximum depth in the area rather than their own actual value? If so then i think this is a bit misleading.
Morilllon is at 1100m (top part) and there is no way from what i saw that 340cm is realistic.

I wear a helmet when skiing but during the apres, evening and even at home & work i wear a bobble.
I am confident i will not injure myself but i cannot rely on fate to not slam a prat into my head.

That heart stopping moment when you are at speed and the skier below you who is heading towards the edge of the piste and about to turn (but you are sure he will turn before you get there) and you think you will overtake him between the point he turns and the edge of the piste.
But the bugger goes right to the edge.....and you have to slam the anchors on.

krisbateson wrote:Thanks for the replies, we are looking at staying in the Residence de la foret (pierres vacances?) so will be self catering, is eating out expensive ? if we cant be bothered to cook! Also we're not bothered about partying, just a beer or 2 in a decent bar, any suggestions?
Ta.

That residence looked fine, we were next door.
It is less than 200m to the nearest lift. Its a good choice.

Eating out is expensive. Beers are on average 6-7 euro a pint and a decent meal is about 17-20 euro.
As part of the residence there is a small supermarket, pizza restaurant (8-12 euro a pizza). The ski shop is part of the same block.
5 mins walk away is the black grouse pub, we had steak and chips for 18 euro.

don't let the prices put you off, its pretty much standard for france. The skiing is great.

People that slam the safety bar down before you are ready.
Poor old little snapzzz had her poles jammed across her stomach and trapped under the bar so she couldn't breath in flaine.
The ignorant buggers didn't even look and just slammed it down and i couldn't lift it as they all had there skis on the rests.
I was screaming at them !
look and ask before making decisions for others.

Iceman, i agree.....

Watching that carousel go round and round and seeing others pick up their bags is torture.
I was thinking "should i really have packed my boots in my ski bag"....
