Snapzzz, Meg's new helmet looks exactly the same as mine, except that she has different coloured ear muffs. I hope it is just as comfy - I am very pleased with mine :D

Well, if you will spend your money and holiday time going to Africa (or wherever you're going) instead of coming ski-ing with us to Tignes, then you are bound to miss out. I'm sure we will post a heavily censored version of whatever happens there, here on J2Ski  And you can always make sure you come with us on the 2014 holiday :D |

Andy, I'm sorry to disappoint you but I think we might have to censor certain events that may well occur during this holiday  For example, if anyone catches me drinking a bottle of gin before breakfast would they please not post anything about it up on here when we get back, as I can't afford to spoil my T-Total reputation  And likewise if anyone manages to get any footage of me ski-ing without falling over - because otherwise people will never believe it really IS me in the video  |

Here are some photos taken around Tignes, and Les Brevieres during my 3 day ski holiday at the end of April 2012, which appeared earlier in this thread (for those who missed them the first time around). And I've also included a few maps of Tignes.
The photos expand if you click on them. However, I would like to make it quite clear that the photos of the vodka shots and dancing on the table at the underground bar in Les Brevieres were nothing to do with me  My daughter very kindly contributed some of her photos from her uni ski trip in December 2011.

Felthorpe - I reckon we will all get on fine, and have a great time :D
Daved - I have to admit I was reminded by Brooksy and Far Queue  I have been very busy over the summer and the holiday seemed a very long way away - but it is racing up on us quite fast now :D |

I know there is a very easy long green run called Deux Lacs at Val Thorens, with its own chairlift, because I remember falling over crash at the bottom of it in a group lesson
However, I think Val Thorens might be rather scary for total beginners because it is so high up and bleak. I reckon Courchevel 1650 (out of the few resorts I've been to) would be much more suitable. Niederau sounds excellent as well, for beginners, although I haven't actually skied there myself. |

I thought it was about time I did an update on this group holiday to Tignes.
We currently have 12 J2Ski members and their friends and family booked into 8 rooms of the 15 available in the chalet. I phoned Bonjour and they said things have been quiet over the summer and they haven't had any non J2Ski bookings for this chalet for this week. However, interest is picking up now as people come back from their summer holidays and begin to think about ski-ing again. So, this holiday is still open to anyone else who wants to come with us. The basic price is £399 for a shared room in the catered chalet. The single supplement is £200. It's only £199 for children 13 and under sharing a family room with 2 adults. And there is a £100 discount for 3rd and 4th adults sharing a family room with 2 adults. You have to book your travel to the chalet yourself. Flights from London (for example) to and from Geneva are still available for around £100. There is public transport available between Geneva and Tignes Les Brevieres, as well as a coach run by the chalet. The timetable doesn't seem to be up yet for Bens Bus or Altibus, but last year Altibus charged 106 euros return between Geneva and Tignes. Further details are on the first page of this thread. Please note this is Sunday to Sunday. If anyone is interested in coming with us would they please post on here or send me a private message, thanks :D Ally |
