Ski boots - hand baggage or checked in
Started by User in Ski Chatter, 77 Replies
I've just bought a double sized ski bag. It's got more than enough room for boots, Skis, poles and will take most of my clothes, and plenty of Heinz soup for a mid piste snack. I'll be taking my hand luggage mainly for my laptop, camera and any clothes that don't fit into my ski bag.

I'm flying BA (not my choice), and while there are a number of cabin crew who are hell bent on destroying their own careers and ruining people's holidays, they are pretty good with weight allowance. I'll be flying out of city airport, so hopefully won't be affected by the potential strikes.

You dont buy travel insurance, May i ask why not?

I'm incredibly careful, incredibly lucky, and I've/we've paid billions of pounds into the EU, so I expect the EHIC to cover any medical expenses while in Europe. If it doesn't and I have to stump up the bill, I can ASSURE you I will get the money back off Heir Cameron and Frau Osborne.

Granted you can get decent cover for about £25, but it's also a matter of principle for me.

Yes I dont mean to be morbid but you can be as careful as you like, but what would you do if you killed someone? Id like to think you ski with a triangle stuck to your back to warn others..

haha... I like the triangle idea! I see what you're saying, but really what are the chances of me killing someone?! Yes the chance is always there, but it's highly, highly unlikely, and not worth £25, or 4 or 5 pints, in my opinion.

It's like motor insurance. I've forked out thousands of pounds over the 13 years I've been driving, and never had to make a claim... what a waste of money!
